Sometime towards the end of 2023, I decided to take a leap and submit a proposal to for Pop Con 2024. Over the past couple years I’ve had the opportunity to nerd out in public with presentations about Prince‘s music, but I hadn’t yet ventured into the waters beyond talking about my favorite artist. I’m over the moon that the folks at Pop Con 2024 selected me to be among the incredible presenters and panelists at this year’s conference! I’m working on a paper about how we document music fandom in the age of digital and social media, and so excited to get my thoughts out and share them with some of the dopest music scholars, historians, and archivists in the game. Oh, and George Clinton, Wendy & Lisa, and David Ritz are among the keynote speakers. Say whuuuuuh?!?!? It’s gon’ be a stone gas, honey.
